Spectre s Intake Tube/Duct Mounting Plate allows an air filter with a 4 inch inlet a 4 inch intake tube or a coupler to be mounted directly to any flat surface to bring cool air into the intake. This product may require drilling additional holes in some applications. The aftermarket kits affect this expected air volume and velocity, and once it starts happening (CEL warning indicators), there is little you can do except reinstall the stock equipment. Featuring a universal design, this intake tube mounting plate is constructed using polished aluminum. All I know is that the MAF expects a predetermined volume and velocity of air, which the stock 2.7' tube creates in conjunction with the OEM filter and airbox. Spectre Intake Tube and Duct Mounting Plates allow an air filter with a 4 inch inlet, a 4 inch intake tube, or a coupler to be mounted directly to any flat surface, such as an inner fender well or radiator support, to bring cool air into the intake. The MAF sleeve adapts the 4" filter intake to the 3.5 inch intake tube. I opted for a black HPR9617K air filter with a SPR-990003 MAF sleeve. A shorter 3.5 inch coupler was selected at the throttle body. The intake tube has all the connections for the Coyote vacuum line and crankcase ventilation. I went that route as I do not have anyone local that I would trust to do good aluminum tig welding. About the only thing I was able to use was the intake tube. The intake tube is from a kit designed for the Mustang GT. A note, Spectre Performance is a K&N company. As usual my solution was not a cheap way to go, but got what I wanted. I worked with Guy Smith at Spectre Performance to put together components that would fit and look the way I wanted to.
